Bio
Recruited from the Victorian goldfields town of Tarnagulla, Frank Field arrived at Princes Park during a bleak era for the Blues at the turn of the 20th century. He broke into the senior side in 1901, playing as a fringe footballer for a Carlton team that was languishing near the bottom of the ladder. Field managed to boot a single career goal during his two-season tenure, often fighting to hold his place in the starting eighteen during a period of consistently poor on-field results. His brief thirteen-game career concluded in 1902, seeing him depart the club just prior to the administrative revolution led by Jack Worrall that would eventually transform the struggling Blues into a premiership powerhouse.
