Bio
Recruited from Camperdown, Garrey Wynd was a centreman whose path to the VFL was initially delayed by clearance complications. After a brief stint with the St Kilda reserves in 1965, he finally broke through for two senior appearances with Melbourne in 1966, debuting as a teenager against Collingwood at Victoria Park. Unable to cement a regular spot in the side, he crossed to Prahran in the VFA the following season to continue his career. While his own tenure at the top level was fleeting, he later established a significant football legacy as the father of 1992 Brownlow Medallist Scott Wynd and North Melbourne ruckman Paul Wynd.
