Bio
Drafted by Geelong with pick 58 in the 2023 National Draft, George Stevens arrived at the Cattery with a reputation as a prolific ball-winner and a natural leader, having captained both the GWV Rebels and the AFL Academy. Despite his dominance at junior level, the big-bodied midfielder slid to the later rounds due to concerns over his athletic profile following an ACL injury in his bottom-age year. Stevens spent his first season developing his tank in the VFL, where his ability to win contested possession and muscle opponents at stoppages stood out against mature bodies. He eventually broke through for his senior debut in 2025, playing two games and kicking a goal to give fans a glimpse of his clearance craft. Entering the 2026 season, he remains a developing prospect fighting to translate his inside dominance into a permanent spot in the Cats' midfield rotation.
