Bio
Recruited from Parkdale, Glenn Boland was a second-generation VFL footballer, the son of former Hawthorn and Richmond player Brian Boland. A mid-sized utility, he spent three seasons on Melbourne's list, largely serving as a depth player during a transitional era for the Demons. While he found it difficult to cement a permanent spot in the senior lineup, his time at the club was highlighted by a role in the 1984 Reserves premiership victory. Boland was delisted by Melbourne prior to the 1985 season to ease salary cap pressures, a move that saw him cross to St Kilda for a brief lifeline. He managed just three senior appearances for the Saints in his final year of VFL football before returning to the local leagues with Parkdale.
