Family

Recruited from Catani in the Gippsland region, Graham Robbins was a clever goalkicking half-forward and rover who arrived at Punt Road during the Tigers' golden era under Tom Hafey. Despite possessing dangerous skills around goal and showing promise as a rotation player, he found it difficult to cement a regular senior spot in a Richmond lineup stacked with premiership stars, managing just 13 appearances across three seasons. Seeking greater opportunity, he departed the VFL to carve out a successful career at state level, starring in Oakleigh's 1972 VFA premiership side before moving to the SANFL, where he became a leading goalkicker for South Adelaide. His connection to the elite level continued through his son, Ben Robbins, who played over 90 AFL games for Brisbane and the Kangaroos in the 1990s and 2000s.
