Bio
Recruited from the Gippsland Power with pick 10 in the 2015 National Draft, Harry McKay arrived at Carlton as a raw tall forward prospect. The identical twin brother of defender Ben McKay, he required time to develop his imposing frame, waiting until 2017 to make his senior debut. While his early career was managed carefully to ensure physical longevity, he stepped up significantly during difficult periods for the club, evolving from a developing talent into the primary focal point of the Blues' attack.
A towering presence inside 50, McKay is renowned as one of the competition's premier contested marks, utilising his significant reach and athleticism to dominate aerial duels against often undersized defenders. His individual ceiling was realised in 2021 when he claimed the Coleman Medal and earned All-Australian honours. While his unique goal-kicking routineโoften favouring snaps from set shotsโhas generated debate regarding conventional mechanics, his output remains critical to Carlton's scoring power. Alongside Charlie Curnow, he forms one half of a formidable key position duo, having committed his long-term future to the club to lead the Blues' forward line through his prime years.
