Family

Ivan Soldo arrived at Richmond as a raw Category B rookie with a basketball background, signed largely on the recommendation of his cousin and Tigers cult hero Ivan Maric. Standing 204cm, he developed into a competitive tap ruckman who provided a physical presence around stoppages and could push forward to impact the scoreboard. His crowning achievement at Punt Road came in 2019 when he formed a formidable tandem with Toby Nankervis to defeat GWS in the Grand Final, earning a premiership medallion. After missing the entire 2021 season due to a knee reconstruction and finding his opportunities limited behind Nankervis, Soldo was traded to Port Adelaide at the end of 2023 in search of the number one mantle. His time at Alberton has been complicated by recurring injury setbacks and external speculation regarding his future, leaving him to fight to re-establish himself as a premier ruckman in the competition.
