Bio
John Campsie "Jack" Brown was a lightly built recruit who joined St Kilda from local club Caulfield Juniors. Standing just 171cm and weighing 67kg, he was physically suited to a role as a rover or small forward, tasked with crumbing packs and feeding the larger pivotal players. He broke into the senior lineup during the 1909 season, managing to hold his place for 10 games in a year where the Saints struggled near the bottom of the ladder. While he proved capable of hitting the scoreboard with four career goals, he could not cement a long-term position in the side. After adding a solitary appearance in early 1910, his brief VFL career concluded, marking him as a fleeting contributor during a difficult era for the club.
