Bio
Recruited from Caulfield, Ted Brown initially struggled to make an impact at St Kilda, managing only brief appearances in 1911 before heading to the bush to refine his craft with Ararat. He returned to the league with Carlton in 1914 as a hardened senior footballer, immediately slotting into the lineup as a versatile wingman and half-back flanker. Brown proved to be a vital recruit for the Blues, playing an instrumental role in the club's back-to-back premierships in 1914 and 1915. Though his own career concluded just shy of a century of games, he established a lasting dynasty at Princes Park, with his sons Vin and John both becoming significant players for the club, the former emulating his father’s feat as a dual premiership hero.
