Bio
Jack Pickett entered his top-age campaign as one of the premier key forwards in the 2026 draft class. Hailing from the Torquay Football Club, he developed through the Geelong Falcons and earned selection in the AFL National Academy. He put together a dominant bottom-age season in 2025, kicking bags of goals in the Talent League, representing Vic Country at the National Championships and starring in the Futures match on AFL Grand Final day. His 2026 season was abruptly cut short when he ruptured his ACL and MCL at training after round one. Despite spending the year sidelined, his resilience during rehabilitation has been widely praised by recruiters.
At 194cm, Pickett is a strong-marking spearhead with a spring-heeled leap and the mobility to create separation on the lead. He boasts clean hands, a competitive nature in the air and highly accurate kicking in front of goal. Before his injury, he noted a desire to build his work rate further up the ground to turn opponents inside out. Having earned an invite to the national draft combine, Pickett remains widely rated as a potential first-round prospect and one of the first talls expected to be taken.
