Bio
Recruited from Tasmania with pick 13 in the 2006 National Draft, Jack Riewoldt arrived at Punt Road carrying a famous surname as the cousin of St Kilda champion Nick Riewoldt. He joined a Richmond side that was largely struggling for relevance, but quickly established himself as the focal point of the attack. While his early career was defined by prodigious talent and a sometimes demonstrative on-field persona, he matured into a selfless leader who prioritised team structure over individual accolades.
An athletic key forward renowned for his exceptional football IQ and vertical leap, Riewoldt claimed three Coleman Medals during his tenure. His evolution under coach Damien Hardwick was critical to the club's success; he transitioned from a traditional stay-at-home full-forward into a roaming, contested-marking presence who often sacrificed his own goal-kicking tally to bring smaller teammates into the game. This shift was instrumental in the Tigers' forward line structure that delivered premierships in 2017, 2019, and 2020.
