Bio
The son of former Richmond forward Jack Huggard, Jackie Huggard arrived at Windy Hill via the Essendon Stars as a talented rover and centreman. Despite proving his quality by winning the Bombers' reserves best and fairest award in 1945, he found his pathway to regular senior football effectively blocked by the imposing presence of club immortals Dick Reynolds and Bill Hutchison. Restricted to just a single senior appearance for Essendon, he crossed to North Melbourne the following season in search of greater opportunity, where he managed another seven games in the royal blue and white before his VFL career concluded.
