Family

Selected by Hawthorn with pick 52 in the 2018 National Draft, Jacob Koschitzke is a key position swingman who arrived at Waverley Park with a famous surname as the cousin of former St Kilda star Justin Koschitzke. Initially developed as a key defender, he made his mark at AFL level after switching to the forward line, enjoying a promising breakout season in 2021. However, he struggled to maintain that form and cement a permanent spot in the Hawks' best 22 during the club's rebuild, leading him to request a trade to Richmond at the end of 2023. Recruited to bolster a forward line adjusting to the retirement of Jack Riewoldt, Koschitzke offers athleticism and strong contested marking ability, though he remains in a constant battle to deliver consistent output and secure his place as a mainstay in the Tigers' attack.
