Bio
Recruited from the Bendigo Pioneers with pick 73 in the 2014 National Draft, Jaden McGrath was a skilful small forward who appeared poised for a promising career after breaking into the Brisbane Lions' senior side for Round 1 of his debut season. He played the first three matches of 2015, impressing with his composure and pace, before a navicular stress fracture in his foot interrupted his progress and sidelined him for the remainder of the year. Although he remained on the list for 2016, McGrath struggled to regain his continuity and subsequently lost his passion for the rigorous demands of AFL football. In November 2016, despite having a year remaining on his contract, he announced his retirement at just 20 years of age to return to local football in Victoria.
