Bio
Recruited from the Murray Bushrangers with pick 21 in the 2013 National Draft, Jarman Impey wasted little time establishing himself at Port Adelaide, debuting in the opening round of his first season. Initially deployed as a lockdown small defender tasked with curbing the influence of the league's most dangerous goal-sneaks, he later added versatility to his game with stints in the forward line, where his elite speed created pressure and scoring opportunities. After four seasons in South Australia, Impey requested a trade to Hawthorn ahead of the 2018 season, seeking a return to Victoria and a new challenge as the Hawks looked to regenerate their list.
At Hawthorn, Impey evolved into a dashing half-back, renowned for his ability to break lines and launch counter-attacks with his run-and-carry. His career momentum was stalled by a ruptured ACL in 2019, a significant setback that sidelined him for 12 months and required a patient return to top form. Since fully recovering, he has re-established himself as a cornerstone of the Hawks' defence, combining defensive accountability with an attacking mindset that drives the team's transition game. Now a veteran with over 200 games to his name, Impey serves as a key leadership figure and mentor for a youthful Hawthorn side, providing stability and composure behind the ball.
