Recruited from Tasmania with pick 33 in the 2010 National Draft, Jeremy Howe initially made his name at Melbourne as a high-flying forward capable of taking spectacular marks with exceptional frequency. While he claimed the 2012 Mark of the Year and provided rare highlights during a lean era for the Demons, he often struggled for positional continuity and sought a trade to Collingwood following the 2015 season. The move proved career-defining, as the Magpies settled him into the backline where his elite vertical leap and ability to read the play transformed him into one of the competition's premier intercept defenders.
Howe's resilience was tested severely in 2023 when a compound fracture to his arm threatened his season, yet he returned to play a pivotal role in Collingwood's premiership victory.
