Bio
Recruited from Charles Sturt in the SANFL with pick 67 in the 2006 National Draft, Joe Anderson arrived at Carlton as a running defender looking to add pace to the Blues' backline. He was primarily utilized as a rebounding back pocket who could carry the ball, but he faced stiff competition for defensive spots during the early years of the Brett Ratten era. Despite his athletic attributes, Anderson struggled to find consistency at the senior level, often operating as a depth player who covered for injuries rather than commanding a permanent spot in the best 22. After managing just 17 games across four seasons at Princes Park, he was delisted at the conclusion of the 2010 season as Carlton looked to consolidate its list for a finals campaign.
