Bio
Selected by Greater Western Sydney with the second overall pick in the 2012 National Draft, Jonathan O'Rourke was a classy midfielder touted for his clean hands and composure in traffic. His development at the Giants was immediately stalled by recurring soft tissue injuries, restricting him to just nine games in two seasons before he sought a trade to Hawthorn in search of greater continuity. The move failed to revitalise his career, as he found himself stuck behind established stars in a premiership-winning midfield while continuing to battle durability concerns. O'Rourke could never secure a permanent spot in the senior side, adding just 12 games in four years at Waverley Park before being delisted at the end of 2018, ultimately remembered as a high-potential talent whose career was derailed by persistent injury setbacks.
