Bio
Recruited to the Brisbane Lions as a father-son selection in the 2014 National Draft, Josh Clayton is the son of former Fitzroy player and prominent list manager Scott Clayton. A versatile utility with elite endurance capable of playing both forward and through the midfield, he demonstrated significant ball-winning ability in the NEAFL but found it challenging to consistently translate that form to the senior level. He made his debut in 2016 and showed glimpses of potential as a high half-forward, yet he struggled to command a regular spot in the best 22 during a rebuilding phase for the club. After three seasons on the list yielded eight games and five goals, Clayton was delisted at the conclusion of the 2017 season, leaving the AFL system to pursue a successful career in the state leagues.
