Bio
Recruited from Claremont with pick 61 in the 2006 National Draft, Josh Hill entered the AFL with strong footballing pedigree as the cousin of Fremantle and Hawthorn brothers Stephen and Bradley Hill. He began his career at the Western Bulldogs, where he quickly displayed a natural flair for the game, utilising his vertical leap and goal sense to become a dangerous option in attack. While he featured in the club's preliminary final pushes between 2008 and 2010, Hill struggled to maintain consistent form and defensive pressure, traits that ultimately saw him fall out of favour at Whitten Oval.
Seeking a fresh start and a return to his home state, Hill was traded to the West Coast Eagles ahead of the 2012 season. He revitalised his career in Perth, becoming a regular fixture in the Eagles' forward line as a crumbing forward who could also mark overhead, playing a complementary role alongside key forward Josh Kennedy. He was a significant contributor during West Coast's 2015 campaign, including an appearance in that year's Grand Final loss to Hawthorn. Despite finishing his career with over 200 goals and a reputation as a match-winner on his day, Hill battled perception regarding his work rate throughout his tenure, and he was eventually delisted by the Eagles at the end of 2017.
