Bio
Recruited from Perth in the WAFL with pick 24 in the 2018 National Draft, Bobby Hill is the cousin of fellow AFL players Stephen and Bradley Hill. He began his career at Greater Western Sydney, where he displayed glimpses of his electric pace and natural goal sense across four seasons. However, his tenure at the Giants faced significant challenges, including a testicular cancer diagnosis in 2022 and a failed trade request to Essendon the previous year. Seeking a fresh start, he was eventually traded to Collingwood ahead of the 2023 season.
Hill made an immediate impact at the Magpies, cementing his spot as a dynamic small forward known for his defensive pressure and ability to take spectacular overhead marks despite his size. His debut season in black and white culminated in a career-defining performance in the 2023 Grand Final against Brisbane. Hill booted four goals in the decider to win the Norm Smith Medal, playing a pivotal role in the club's premiership victory and establishing himself as a cult hero at Collingwood.
