Bio
Drafted remarkably late at pick 71 in the 2006 National Draft from Central District, Justin Westhoff became one of the greatest bargain selections in Port Adelaide history. He made an immediate impact as a rangy key forward in 2007, earning a Rising Star nomination and playing in a Grand Final in his debut season, but his career was ultimately defined by an exceptional versatility that allowed coaches to deploy him effectively on a wing, in the ruck, or as a roaming link-up player. Renowned for his elite aerobic capacity and reliable marking hands, Westhoff evolved into a unique utility who could plug holes anywhere on the ground, often acting as the connector between defence and attack.
A model of durability, Westhoff rarely missed matches and became a cornerstone of the Power lineup for over a decade. His career-best form arrived surprisingly late, culminating in a John Cahill Medal win in 2018 at the age of 31, validating his importance to the side's structure. He retired at the end of the 2020 season as a one-club player, finishing inside Port Adelaide's all-time top five for both games played and goals kicked, cementing his status as a modern great of the Power.
