Bio
Recruited from amateur side Ormond, Kevin Mithen entered the VFL as the younger brother of Melbourne champion Laurie Mithen. Unlike his sibling, who became a centrepiece of the Demons' dynasty, Kevin struggled to break into Norm Smith's powerhouse line-up, managing just four games as the club dominated the late 1950s. After leaving to play country football with Warragul, he received a brief VFL lifeline with South Melbourne in 1962 but could not cement a regular senior spot. He eventually finished his playing days in the VFA with Waverley, where he was coached by former teammate Ian Thorogood.
