Bio
Recruited from Moyhu in the Ovens and King Football League, Lester Ross was a defender who made a brief appearance at VFL level with St Kilda in the late 1950s. He broke into the senior side for the opening round of the 1959 season and held his spot for ten consecutive matches during a difficult period for the Saints, who would ultimately claim the wooden spoon that year. Although his tenure at the elite level was restricted to a single season before he departed the club, his contribution to St Kilda history extended to the next generation, with his son Lester Ross Jr playing over 100 games for the Saints in the 1980s.
