Bio
Recruited from the Greater Western Victoria Rebels with pick 69 in the 2017 National Draft, Lloyd Meek spent his early career at Fremantle biding his time as a developing tall. With the Dockers' ruck division dominated by Sean Darcy, Meek found senior opportunities scarce, managing just 15 appearances across five seasons despite consistently strong form in the WAFL. Seeking the chance to become a number one ruckman, particularly following Fremantle's high-profile acquisition of Luke Jackson, Meek requested a trade to Hawthorn at the end of 2022 in the deal that saw Jaeger O'Meara head the other way. He subsequently flourished at Waverley Park, using his imposing 203cm frame and aggressive follow-up work at ground level to cement his spot in the senior side. An honest and competitive big man who provides a physical contest and drifts forward to hit the scoreboard, Meek successfully transformed from a depth player in the west to a vital structural pillar for the Hawks' midfield.
