Bio
Recruited by Hawthorn with pick 50 in the 2014 National Draft, Marc Pittonet spent his formative years at Waverley Park stuck behind established ruckmen Ben McEvoy and Jonathon Ceglar, managing just seven games in five seasons. Seeking regular senior opportunities, he was traded to Carlton at the end of 2019, where he immediately established himself as a key pillar in the Blues' midfield following the decline of Matthew Kreuzer. A traditional, physical ruckman, Pittonet is renowned for his aggressive bodywork and ability to create space for his midfielders rather than his athleticism around the ground. While his role has evolved into a rotational partnership or depth option alongside Tom De Koning, his contest work and brute strength remain crucial assets for Carlton's clearance setups.
