Bio
Arriving at Victoria Park with the weight of significant expectation, Mark Weideman was a key forward tasked with following in the footsteps of his father, Magpies legend Murray Weideman. He demonstrated clear ability in front of goal during his time at Collingwood, averaging better than a goal a game and presenting as a strong target in attack. However, Weideman struggled to cement a permanent position in the senior lineup over four seasons, often battling for selection in a competitive era for the club. He departed the VFL after the 1984 season to pursue a move to the SANFL with West Adelaide, where he enjoyed a prolific career as a player and later a coach, eventually watching his own son Sam extend the family's AFL lineage.
