Fantasy

Arriving at Punt Road carrying one of the most famous surnames in football history, Maurice Rioli joined Richmond as a father-son selection in the 2020 national draft. The son of Tigers champion Maurice Rioli and nephew of Cyril, he naturally drew attention but quickly established his own identity as a high-pressure small forward whose value is often measured in tackles and defensive acts rather than raw possession numbers. While he possesses the blistering speed and evasiveness characteristic of his lineage, Rioli has found consistency difficult to maintain at AFL level, often oscillating between the senior side and the VFL or serving as the tactical substitute during his development years. Now several seasons into his tenure, he remains a dangerous but intermittent contributor, constantly fighting to convert his elite defensive pressure into a permanent spot in the Tigers' starting 22.
