Bio
A decorated country footballer from Sandhurst, Michael Lenaghan arrived in the VFL with an impressive resume that included four Bendigo Football League premierships and a Michelsen Medal. After failing to break into Carlton's powerful senior side during a stint in the reserves in 1982, he returned to captain Sandhurst to a flag before being granted a second opportunity at the top level by Geelong. Joining his brother Denis at Kardinia Park, he debuted as a 26-year-old mature-age recruit in 1984. Lenaghan served as a handy utility and goal-kicking option for the Cats, playing 22 games over his tenure and adding experienced depth to the squad.
