Bio
Recruited from the country town of Donald in northern Victoria, Murray Kick was the aptly named son of former Carlton player Ned Kick. Though he lacked the blistering pace typically associated with wide players of the era, he established himself as a clever and resourceful wingman known for his strong overhead marking and ability to read the play. His standout campaign came in 1962, where he finished third in the club's Best and Fairest and featured on the wing in the Grand Final loss to Essendon. After battling injuries in his final two seasons at Princes Park, he departed at the end of 1965 to pursue a successful captain-coaching career in the Goulburn Valley with Shepparton United.
