Bio
Recruited from the country town of Dunolly in central Victoria, Ned Kick was a ruckman and follower who played a brief hand in VFL football during the 1920s. He initially broke into the Carlton side in 1925, managing eight senior appearances in his debut season before dropping out of the league for two years. He resurfaced at Fitzroy in 1928 for a final two-game stint but could not secure a permanent spot in the lineup. While his own tenure at the elite level was short, his contribution to the game extended to the next generation as the father of Murray Kick, who returned to Princes Park to become a premiership player for the Blues in the 1960s.
