Bio
Recruited from Wagga Wagga in the Riverina, Neville Miller was a capable forward whose VFL career at South Melbourne was marked by resilience following a brutal start. His debut against Collingwood in 1970 was cut short by a severe knee gash that required 23 stitches, sidelining him for the remainder of his first season. He returned to play his best football in 1971, famously booting five goals at Windy Hill to steer the Swans to a hoodoo-breaking victory against Essendon—the club's first win at the venue since 1954. After 28 games, Miller moved on to play for West Adelaide in the SANFL and later became a star in Tasmania, winning three premierships with Sandy Bay before settling in Queensland as a coach. He is the father of former Melbourne and Richmond utility Brad Miller.
