Recruited from the Sandringham Dragons with pick 11 in the 2016 National Draft, Oliver Florent arrived at Sydney as a highly rated junior talent and the son of late Australian tennis professional Andrew Florent. While he initially rotated through the forward line and wing, he truly flourished after shifting to half-back, where his elite speed, evasion, and penetrating kick became vital weapons for the Swans. He developed a reputation for remarkable durability during his time in New South Wales, playing a significant streak of consecutive games and becoming a reliable architect of counter-attacks for a side that regularly featured in September action.
After nine seasons and nearly 200 games in the red and white, Florent made a high-profile move to Carlton ahead of the 2026 season.
