Bio
A product of the Bendigo Pioneers who was initially overlooked in the national draft, Oskar Smartt earned his AFL opportunity through persistence in the Essendon VFL program. The combative small forward was handed a lifeline by the Bombers in the 2025 Mid-Season Draft, rewarded for his high-pressure game and explosive athletic traits. He broke into the senior side late in the season to play four consecutive matches, bringing frantic defensive intensity to the forward half. Despite realising his dream of senior football, Smartt's stint at the top level was brief, as he was delisted at the conclusion of his debut year without registering a major.
