Bio
Recruited from Assumption College where he served as school captain, Peter Tossol arrived at Melbourne with a reputation as a prolific junior forward, joining his older brother John at the club. He made an immediate impact on debut against Richmond in 1982, booting goals with his first two kicks in VFL football to showcase his natural goal sense. Standing 183cm, Tossol was a dangerous option inside 50 but found himself on the fringe of senior selection for much of his tenure, often dominating at the lower level where he topped the reserves goalkicking and featured in the Demons' 1984 reserves premiership side. His most notable senior performance came that same year when he kicked four goals against reigning premiers Hawthorn at the MCG. Tossol eventually turned his back on the city to return to country football, where he forged a legendary career in the Ovens and Murray League, winning three flags with Wangaratta Rovers and earning induction into the O&M Hall of Fame.
