Bio
A talented South Australian recruit with a strong football pedigree, Peter Yeo arrived at Melbourne midway through the 1972 season after establishing himself as a star in the SANFL. The son of Sturt great David Yeo, he began his career with Port Adelaide before crossing to the Double Blues, where he featured as a dashing small forward in their famous 1970 premiership side. He made a brief impact at VFL level, managing just three senior games in a short stint before leaving Australia to travel overseas at the end of the year. Yeo later served the Demons as a fundraising coordinator, but is arguably best remembered for his immense resilience following a tragic domestic accident in 2002 that resulted in quadriplegia, after which he remained an inspirational figure in the football community until his passing in 2023.
