Bio
Rohan Bewick, the nephew of Essendon premiership player Darren Bewick, arrived at the Brisbane Lions via a strategic trade arrangement involving the Gold Coast Suns' entry into the league. Originally playing for West Perth in the WAFL, he was pre-listed by the incoming Suns but immediately traded to the Lions as part of the deal that sent Jared Brennan down the highway. A hard-running wingman and half-forward, Bewick relied on his elite endurance and a deceptive vertical leap to carve out a niche in the Brisbane lineup, often acting as a link player between the arcs.
While rarely a headline grabber, Bewick proved a durable servant during a turbulent, low-performance era for the club. He faced ongoing battles for consistency and selection, frequently fighting for his spot in the senior side, yet his running power allowed him to persist where others fell away. He reached the 100-game milestone in 2018, a testament to his resilience, before being delisted at the conclusion of that season as the Lions shifted their focus toward a youth-led rebuild.
