Bio
A product of the local metropolitan leagues, Ron Evans arrived at Punt Road via Richmond United, where he had established himself as a standout talent by winning the VFL Sub-Districts best and fairest. The younger brother of teammate Max Evans, he was a lightweight but sharp-shooting rover and half-forward who knew where the goals were, averaging better than a goal a game throughout his brief VFL career. Despite starring in the seconds—winning a reserves premiership in 1946 and a best and fairest in 1947—he found it difficult to permanently cement a spot in the Tigers' senior lineup. He enjoyed his most consistent run in 1948, featuring in 17 matches, before crossing to Hawthorn for a final season at the elite level in 1950, eventually finishing his playing days in the VFA with Coburg.
