Bio
Recruited from Woodville-West Torrens, Scott Freeborn initially joined the AFL landscape on Port Adelaide's inaugural list in 1997 but was delisted without registering a senior game. After returning to the SANFL to refine his craft, he was handed a lifeline by Carlton with the second selection in the 2000 Pre-Season Draft. A neat left-footed utility who largely operated across half-back or on the wing, Freeborn was valued for his precise delivery and ability to create drive from defence. He immediately established himself in the Blues' lineup, playing 38 games across his first two seasons, but his influence waned as the club entered a period of historic decline. Amidst form struggles and the team's slide to the 2002 wooden spoon, Freeborn added just ten more appearances to his tally before being delisted at the end of the 2003 season.
