Bio
Recruited from the Fitzroy scholarship squad where he had played Under 19s football, Shane Braddy joined Melbourne just prior to the mid-season clearance deadline in 1981. The younger brother of Sydney and Fitzroy goalkicker Craig Braddy, he was a tall utility measuring 188cm who could operate effectively as a defensive or attacking flanker. He broke into the senior side late in the 1981 season, showing promise by slotting three goals in his two VFL appearances, but was unable to cement a permanent spot on the list. Braddy subsequently moved to Western Australia to play for Subiaco for two seasons before returning to Victoria to feature for Preston in the VFA.
