Bio
A legend of West Australian football, Stan Heal's brief VFL career with Melbourne was a product of World War II, as he joined the Demons in 1941 while stationed in Victoria with the RAAF. Although he played just eight games in the red and blue, the West Perth recruit displayed the class and courage that would later define his career, playing as a rover who combined high-end skill with relentless running. He returned to the WAFL to cement his legacy as a Sandover Medallist and dual Simpson Medal winner, with his short tenure in Victoria remaining a distinguished footnote in a career that was ultimately recognised with induction into the Australian Football Hall of Fame.
