Recruited from South Fremantle with pick 55 in the 2022 National Draft, Steely Green arrived at Richmond with a reputation built on elite endurance and defensive intensity. A diminutive but tenacious small forward, Green was tasked with applying heat inside 50, utilising his high work rate to lay tackles and disrupt opposition defenders. While he showed glimpses of his goal sense and pressure game at senior level, he found it difficult to cement a permanent spot in the Tigers' best 22 during a regenerating phase for the club. Over four seasons at Punt Road, he managed 25 games and 16 goals, operating primarily as a fringe player fighting for opportunities in the attacking half.
