Bio
Steve Easton entered the VFL system amidst a significant administrative storm; as the son of former Kangaroo Kevin Easton, his early selection in North Melbourne's Under 19s famously caused the team to be stripped of premiership points in 1975 after it was discovered he was residentially tied to the Geelong zone. Once officially cleared to Arden Street, the 194cm utility split his time between the ruck and the forward line, showing promise as a tall target who could impact the scoreboard. Despite his imposing frame and football pedigree, Easton struggled to cement a permanent position in Ron Barassi’s senior side, often operating on the fringe of the best 22. He crossed to reigning premiers Carlton for the 1982 season in search of greater opportunity but managed only a solitary senior appearance for the Blues before finishing his playing days in the VFA with Port Melbourne.
