Bio
Recruited as a father-son selection in the 2021 National Draft, Taj Woewodin arrived at Melbourne with the weight of history behind him as the son of 2000 Brownlow Medallist Shane Woewodin. The East Fremantle product spent his initial season developing in the reserves, playing an instrumental role in the Casey Demons’ 2022 VFL premiership victory before breaking into the senior side in late 2023. A clean-using utility who split his time between the wing and half-back, Woewodin’s AFL career was defined by his battle to graduate from the fringe of the best 22; he was frequently deployed as the tactical substitute, particularly in 2024, which limited his game time and continuity. Unable to cement a regular spot in the rotation, he added just one senior game to his tally in 2025 before being delisted at the season's conclusion.
