Bio
Recruited from local side Middle Park, Tammy Hynes wasted no time making his mark at South Melbourne, breaking into the senior lineup during the club's dominant 1918 campaign. Playing as a centreman, he became an immediate fixture in the side that went on to claim the premiership that very season, a rare feat for a debutant. Hynes remained a consistent midfield presence for the Bloods over seven seasons, providing stability in the engine room rather than flashy scoreboard impact. He hung up his boots in 1924, but the Hynes legacy at the Lake Oval continued decades later when his grandson, Tom, donned the red and white in the 1960s.
