Bio
Recruited to Geelong as a father-son selection in the 2002 National Draft, Tim Callan followed in the footsteps of his father Terry but found consistent senior opportunities difficult to secure at Kardinia Park. A courageous small defender known for his physical commitment and desperate spoiling, he struggled to break into a star-studded Cats backline that was on the verge of premiership success. Seeking greater game time, Callan was traded to the Western Bulldogs at the end of 2007, where he added grit to the defence but was plagued by persistent hamstring injuries. These physical setbacks ultimately restricted his output, leading to his retirement in 2010 after eight seasons in the system.
