Bio
A product of the GWS Academy in Canberra, Tom Green arrived at the Giants via pick 10 in the 2019 National Draft after the club matched a bid from Carlton to secure his services. The grandson of Richmond Team of the Century ruckman Michael Green, he entered the system with a ready-made physique that allowed him to impact matches immediately. Green quickly established himself as a dominant inside midfielder, renowned for his exceptionally clean hands in traffic and an uncanny ability to extract the football from congested stoppages.
Standing as a prototype big-bodied on-baller, Green relies on strength, vision, and football IQ rather than explosive pace, often drawing comparisons to elite contested beasts for his work rate and creative distribution by hand. After serving a brief apprenticeship alongside the club's inaugural engine room, he seamlessly took the mantle as the Giants' prime mover. By the time he surpassed the 100-game milestone, Green had cemented his standing as one of the competition's premier midfielders and a vital leader for Greater Western Sydney, driving the team's fortunes through his sheer dominance around the contest.
