Bio
Born into a prominent footballing family, Tom Leehane was the son of Carlton defender Steve Leehane and the younger brother of Essendon star Ted Leehane. He initially followed his father's path at Princes Park, rising through the thirds to make a solitary senior appearance for the Blues in 1948. After failing to feature in the senior side the following year, he crossed to Windy Hill in 1950 to link up with his brother, playing as a defender during a successful era for the Bombers. While he did not reach the same heights as his premiership-winning sibling, Leehane managed seven games in the red and black before forging a successful career in the VFA, where he eventually played in a premiership side for Port Melbourne.
