Bio
Born in Dunedin, New Zealand, Tom Watson established his football credentials in the VFA with Richmond, where he memorably took the field alongside his three brothers. A defensive-minded utility who rarely troubled the scorers, he played a full season for Carlton in 1902 before drifting back to the Association for a stint with his original club. Watson was handed a second VFL lifeline by Melbourne in 1904, debuting in the opening round as a 30-year-old veteran, but it proved to be a fleeting tenure; he made just one appearance for the club before being cleared to North Melbourne midway through the season.
