Bio
Born in the Magpies' backyard of Abbotsford, Tommy Worle was the definition of a local recruit who earned his stripes during a transitional period for Collingwood in 1907. A versatile utility capable of playing at either end of the ground, he made his debut at centre half-forward before being trialled in the back pocket, though he ultimately managed just three senior appearances for the club. Following his brief VFL stint, Worle continued his career with Brunswick in the VFA and captained Collingwood District, maintaining a strong link to the black and white. His football journey was tragically cut short by the First World War; after enlisting in 1916, he served as a sergeant in the Field Artillery and was killed in action in France in 1917, securing his place on the club's Roll of Honour.
